Encryption Configuration

IDrive® 360 backups are encoded with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit encryption algorithm on transfer and storage.

To configure encryption key, right-click the IDrive® 360 tray icon and select Encryption Configuration.

You can choose any one of the following options to authenticate your data:

  • Default key encryption - IDrive® 360 will automatically set an encryption key
  • Private key encryption - You can enter your private encryption key (known only to you)

Note: Once the encryption key is set to your account, it cannot be changed.

Warning: IDrive® 360 does not store your private encryption key on its servers. It is recommended that you archive it safely to backup and restore your data. However, if you choose the default encryption key, you need not remember it.
